Robert De Niro, the 79-year-old actor and Oscar-winner, has become a father again. His representative confirmed the news to CNN on Tuesday. De Niro shared the news of his new baby in an interview with ET Canada on Monday while promoting his new movie titled “About My Father.”

During the interview, when interviewer Brittnee Blair mentioned De Niro’s six children from previous relationships, the actor politely corrected her by saying, “Seven, actually. I just had a baby.” The identity of the mother of De Niro’s seventh child is unknown.

The legendary actor has always cherished his role as a father, and he expressed his love for his children in the interview. He believes in being loving towards his children while also being stern when necessary. He joked that he does not consider himself a “cool dad” and admitted that his 11-year-old daughter gives him grief from time to time. However, he added that he adores her and that more joy is to come with his youngest child.

De Niro was married to Diahnne Abbott from 1976 to 1988, and they have two children together, Drena and Raphael. He welcomed twin sons, Aaron and Julian, with his girlfriend Toukie Smith in 1995. De Niro was also previously married to Grace Hightower, and they have a son named Elliot and a daughter named Helen Grace. De Niro and Hightower split in 2018.
